A disappointing book...

Military Flags of India from the Earliest Times was very promising when I read the review. Unfortunately for my purposes there was not a lot of interest. To be honest, there was nothing  of interest. The book was published by BR Publishing of Delhi in 2011. There are 126 pages of text and 64 plates.

There are 16 pages of text dealing with Moghul flags and two disappointing plates:

The strength of this book is for the post British period, dealing at length with flags of the modern Indian armed forces. 35 of the 64 plates outline those flags. There is one (1) flag relating to the Mutiny. Essentially, all the other flags relate to the ancient and early medieval period. Many of the plates, other than those of the modern period, are black and white.
